Meet Information

The following meet information is available and will be available at practice.

• Canton City Schools Age Group & Open Meet on October 16 - 17 at C.T. Branin Natatorium is due Wednesday, September 15.  This meet is for Senior Shark, Select Youth and youth Shark swimmers with experience.
• Peg Neal Pentathlon on October 23 at Lakewood High School is due Wednesday, September 15.  This meet is for Select Youth swimmers.  Swimmers must swim all 5 events.
• The Mile Meet on October 24 at CSU is due Wednesday, September 22.  There are qualifying times for this meet.  This meet is for Senior Shark and Select Youth swimmers.
• The Freestlye Frenzy Meet on October 31 at CSU is due Wednesday, September 22.  This meet is for Select Youth, Preselect Youth and All Shark swimmers.
• The Odd Age Meet 0n November 6 - 7 at Strongsville Recreation Center is due Wednesday, September 29.  This meet is for Senior Shark, Select Youth, Preselect Youth and All Shark swimmers.

New Swimmer Tryouts

To join the team, the Sharks require swimmers to tryout. Tryouts will be held at Shaker Middle School Pool from 5:20 – 5:40 p.m.; 5:40 – 6:00 p.m.; 6:00 – 6:20 p.m.; 6:20 – 6:40 p.m. on the following days:

·        Wednesday, September 1

·        Friday, September 3

·        Wednesday, September 8

·        Friday, September 10

 Please choose a date and a time to attend.

 

At the tryout, the participant must swim one length of the pool without stopping. In addition, the Sharks determine admission by evaluating swimmers’ deep water safety, underwater comfort, and listening skills.  A successful tryout allows swimmers to begin the Two-Week Evaluation Period. 

Please turn in all paperwork and payments by Friday, September 3 to insure your spot on the team.  Paperwork and payments can be turned in at tryouts or brought to the Woodbury pool.

Short Course Season Starting Dates

Pre-Select, All Sharks, Developing Sharks, and Masters begin Monday, September 13th. Select Youth and Senior Sharks begin Monday, August 30th. See you there!

2010-11 Fall/Winter Short Course

Almost all the information for the upcoming Fall and Winter Short Course season has been posted on the webpage. For those new to the Shaker Swimming program, please read this letter about our parent meeting on August 31st.
