Shaker Middle School Swimming Information

There will be an informational meeting for parents of swimmers who are interested in swimming on the Shaker Middle School Swim Team.  The meeting will be on Sunday, November 1 from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Matthew’s home.  Click here for more information regarding the parent meeting.

Shaker Middle School swim practice begins Monday, November 2 at 3:15 p.m.  Click here for the practice schedule and practice guidelines.  Practice on Tuesday, November 3 will be from 3:15 - 5:15 p.m. because there is no school.  Swimmers will need to get thier own ride to and from practice on that day.

Swimmers must have a completed physical form on file at the Middle School.  If you have already turned in a phyiscal form for a previous sport, you do not need to do it again.  If you have not turned one in already, you must have a completed physical form in to the coaches on Monday, November 2.  Swimmers must also complete a Participation Agreement.  These forms are posted on this website under documents.

Once again we will sell the black hooded sweatshirts for the Shaker Middle School Swim Team.  Orders are due Wednesday, November 11.  Click here for the order form.

New swimmer tryouts

We will have tryouts for new swimmers on Monday, November 2 and Wednesday, November 4 at 7:40 p.m. at the Shaker Middle School.  Information packets will be handed out at tryouts.  If you have any questions, please email Sarah at shakerswimming@msn.com.

Shaker Middle School Swimmers

There will be an informational meeting for all those interested in swimming on the Shaker Middle School swim team.  The meeting will take place (3:00 – 3:45 p.m.) at the Middle School pool bleachers on Wednesday, October 21 during conference time.  The conference bus will be available to take students home.  Please pass the word about the meeting – thanks.

Meet Information

Meet information for the following meets is available.  Entries for both meets are due Wednesday, October 28.

• Shaker Shark Invitational and Volunteer Information  This meet is December 4 - 6 at Cleveland State University.  We will need everyones help to make it a success.  There are some qualifying times for this meet.  If you are unsure if you should attend, please email Sarah or ask your child’s coach.
• Bronze Meet at Euclid High School  This meet is on December 13.  Swimmers must be slower than the times listed.  This is an excellent meet for the developing sharks.

Shaker Shark Swim-a-Thon

The SHSH Halloween swim-a-thon is on Saturday, October 17 at the Middle School Pool.  You may choose to swim during ONE of the following time slots:   

Saturday, October 17:  9:00 – 10:00 a.m., 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., 11:00 – 12:00 noon, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. 

Sign-up sheets are posted by the technique sign-ups sheets at both the Woodbury and Middle School pools.  Again, the swim-a-thon will be held at the Middle School Pool.
