Winter Wonderland

Last weekend, Sharks stalked the lanes of the Kent Roosevelt High School Pool at the Winter Wonderland Meet. It was a great meet for the Sharks on a bitterly cold January day. Many Sharks learned some valuable lessons in perseverance.
Learning to deal with adversity is an important part of learning to compete. Adversity comes in all shapes and sizes: colds and illnesses, disqualifications, lack of sleep, lack of food, grumpy brothers or sisters, mean swim coaches or parents, items forgotten at home, loneliness, long drives, getting lost on the way, being nervous, not swimming your best time, and on and on.
The coaches would like to take this opportunity to congratulate those swimmers who persevered even though it was soooo hard! We’d also like to encourage those swimmers who are still learning to perservere even when it is sooooo hard. Our message is this: We believe in you! You can do it! You are a crazy swimming machine! Yeah!
