Shaker Shark Invitational Information

Shaker Shark Invitational Information:
Friday: Warm-ups will begin at 4:30 p.m.; Meet begins at 5:20 p.m. Swimmers must sign in to all events by 4:30 p.m., except the 1000 free. Swimmers entered in the 1000 free have until 6:00 p.m. to sign in.
Saturday Morning (11 & Over Swimmers): Warm-ups begin at 7:30 a.m.; Meet begins at 8:20 a.m.
Saturday Afternoon (10 & Under Swimmers): WARM-UPS WILL NOT BEGIN BEFORE 12:00 NOON. The meet will begin 50 minutes after the start of warm-ups.
Saturday Finals: Warm-ups will begin at 5:45 p.m.; Finals will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Sunday Morning (11 & Over Swimmers): Warm-ups will begin at 7:30 a.m.; Meet begins at 8:20 a.m.
Sunday Afternoon (10 & Under Swimmers): WARM-UPS WILL NOT BEGIN BEFORE 12:45 P.M. The meet will begin 50 minutes after the start of warm-ups.
We will do dive overs during the morning session. Coaches, please instruct your swimmers.
Swimmers must sign in for all their events before the start of warm-ups.
Deck entries will be taken, but are limited for Friday night, Saturday and Sunday morning. All deck entries will be taken for the Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions.
Time trials will close at 10:30 a.m. and will be swum between the morning and afternoon sessions only.

There will be no Youth Sharks or Select Youth practices on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1 due to the Shaker Shark Invitational.
There will be no Masters and High School/Sr Shark practice on Saturday, December 1 due to the Shaker Shark Invitational.

Tell your coach the NAG A time for the 50 free in your age group.
Look up the NAG A time and tell your coach at practice and you will receive a Shaker Swimming pencil.

Select youth practice will be at the Middle School on Friday, November 16 from 6:00 - 7:20 p.m. due to a Woodbury School function. There will still be youth shark practices at the Middle School at the regular times.
Firestone Bronze Meet #2

Saturday was a day of firsts! Many Shaker Sharks competed in their first meet. Congratulations to those Sharks! Many Sharks also had their first experience swimming breaststroke at a meet. Good work everyone!
Remember, coaches see swim meets as learning experiences. Being disqualified is something every swimmer goes through at some point in their career. Learning to see a disqualification as a reminder to keep listening and working hard at practice is essential!

Euclid Marlins bronze meet - Dec. 8

Several parents have asked if they could still sign their swimmer(s) up for the Euclid Marlins bronze meet on Sat, Dec. 8.
We will take additional entries until Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 9:00 p.m. If you would like to enter your swimmer in the Euclid Marlins meet, please email Sarah at shakerswimming@msn.com before tomorrow evening. Payments must be in by Thursday.

There will be no select youth or youth shark practice on Saturday, November 10 due to the Passport Meet at Akron Firestone High School.

Morning Session (10 & under swimmers)
- Warm-ups - 7:30 a.m.
- Meet begins at 8:35 a.m.
Afternoon session (11 & over swimmers)
- Warm-ups will not begin before 10:45 a.m.
- Meet will begin 65 minutes after the start of warm-ups
Please be at the pool 10 minutes before the start of warm-ups. Check in with a Shaker coach when you arrive.
New Swimmer Tryouts

If you are interested in joining the Shaker Sharks, we are having tryouts on Tuesday, November 13 & Thursday, November 15 at 7:20 p.m. at the Middle School. Please have your swimmer ready to swim. Parents can pick up an informational packet from the coaches at tryouts.
