Parent Meeting and Swimmer Tryouts

There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 4th from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. at the Woodbury Elementary School Pool. This meeting is for parents and guardians only; swimmers should not attend.

Returning Shark parents are welcome to attend, however it is not required. Parents who may be registering new Sharks this season should attend to learn more about new swimmer tryouts. Contact Sarah Tobin if you have any questions.

Important Information About The Meeting

• Bring your checkbook! Immediately following the meeting, we will accept opening payments. All payments will be held (not cashed) until September 24th. Payments submitted at the meeting ensure a tryout and, upon successful completion of the tryout, a two-week evaluation period. Due to limited pool space, payments for new swimmers submitted after September 4th may be put on a waiting list.

  During the tryout and two-week evaluation, you and the coaches will determine if your child is ready to be a Shaker Shark. If your child is not ready, your check will be returned. After September 24th, there will be no refunds.

• Bring a legal document that proves date of birth! The Shaker Sharks are part of USA Swimming, the National Governing Body for competitive swimming in the United States. USA Swimming requires a copy of a document (birth certificate or passport) proving date of birth for every swimmer. Copies can be prepared at the meeting.

New swimmer tryouts will take place Wednesday, September 5th and Thursday, September 6th at the Middle School Pool. Please attend one of the following times:

• 5:20 - 5:40 p.m.
• 5:40 - 6:00 p.m.
• 6:00 - 6:20 p.m.
• 6:20 - 6:40 p.m.
